A Hyperlinked IP Logger is when someone posts a link and gets someone to click on it and then they can steal their IP address. It's how Hackers get someone's IP Address by sending them a Link.

How tf do you guys recognize that those shitty links were IP grabbers? The URL looks exactly as it should be a "safe link". Do you use any tool/program or something?

I mean, they redirect to the original MEGA website and the original Google Drive...

This hackers are getting clever serious these days...

When you hover over the link the Browser will show you where it will take you. If its an other link than you see in the Post its most likely smth fishy

When you hyperlink something, you put in what you want it to show and then where you want it to go. It's a phishing technique that's been around since AOL in the 90's.

Example for how you do it on a website like Reddit (and probably this forum): [https://www.facebook.com](https://www.pornhub.com/)

The Facebook link is what you'll see, but the PornHub link is where you'll actually go.

A vpn would theoretically protect you in this case though, no?

You think that a VPN would protect you. From what I'm told, you can still break through some VPN's and find the person's IP Address. You gotta be a master hacker in order to do that.
